Hi dude! Recently I downloaded your editor, and is really awesome!
There is some way to put a custom parameter into the execution such as -simmobile or some other custom? if there isnt, maybe it will be a great improvement.
Thanks for share your editor!

You mean custom parameter in UDK Game? I will include it in v2.6 🙂

Hey man, ive been wanting to try your software but no matter what i do the setup says i don’t have .NET 3.5 (I do have it, i code for .NET)
Windows 7 x64 SP1

Maybe you only have 2.0 or 2.5 installed. Can you please check your .NET installation in your Framework64 folder? (Example: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\).

http://puu.sh/vIhS – As that screenshot proves, i do have the required Framework version installed… please check the code on the installer’s detection of .NET Framework
LikeLike
Hello drknezz…The installer that i use has built-in functions for checking .NET Framework versions and they cant be edited. So i simply selected 3.5 version. The reason this error occurs is because it checks for registry entry to find if the .NET version is installed. Please follow these steps:
1: Select “Run” from start
2: Type in: regedit and press Ok
3: Then in Registry Editor go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/NET Framework Setup/v3.5 —>If Install is (1) then you have 3.5 installed. Otherwise its not installed.
This is my registry editor.

Is there any way to open a class from the editor area? For example, in VS with nFringe, you can right click a class name and open it from the right click menu. It means you don’t have to navigate to that class manually.
Many thanks

It disappears very fast (had to make a video to read it). It is german so i think i wont help you that much, what it says is that my account on my pc owns the file but it gives an error when it tries to grant admin rights(there is a keyword “administrators”). After that it says that there is a processing error in one file.

Hi, I’m really to test out your IDE, but I’m getting the dotNet 3.5 not found error. I made all the checks you sugested Drknzz (even tested with the verification tool provided by microsoft, everything confirms that dotNet 3.5 is installed in my pc. My PC is a W7 x64 ultimate if that helps for something.I’ve researched a little and foud a guy saying that this might happen if the compiling version of windows its a German version, but i don’t know if this applies for every program (or if this is the case), i will leave you the link here if you want to check it out. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Hi ryanjon2040,
I have tested your editir and find some bugs:
1)If you change editor style (e. g. style was changed to Office 2010 Black), then the selected Item in the code explorer is distorted. (see screen #1).
2)If you create templete class and try close the tab, I observe that tab was not clossed and I see error in the log window (see screen 2). Bug observed when editor is loaded and start page is opened.
3)I have found bug with words highlight. Highlight works correct only for text(highligh is behind the text). But for key words and class names highligh is over the text. To reproduce the bug change Highlight intensity to 100%.(see screens 4 and 5)
4)If I try open editor after closing window I see pop up window which say that editor process is running now (see screen 5)
And at last small request for you: please add the ability to change the color of class names.
Sorry for my bad English.
LikeLike
Thank you for this detailed explanation. I really appreciate it. 🙂
For the bugs:
1) Item distortion was a bug. Please try out the next version to see if it is fixed.
2) It would be great if you translate that Russian error to English. 🙂
3) Setting the highlight intensity to 100% will definitely render it unreadable. Reduce the intensity to 95% or 90%.
4) The editor has a bug of not exiting properly sometimes which started happening from v2.0 i think. I apologize for this issue. Unfortunately am unable to track down this issue but i’ll try to fix it ASAP.
5) The color of class names are colored internally via code. If i make it configurable it might cause problems. But i’ll see what can be done.

for second bug – this is translation of error text:
In the instance of the object is not found reference to the object.
About 3-rd bug.
I think that’s not the intensity issue, because text(variebles or functions) looks correct. I think issue is order of rendering: аirst, text is displayed, and then the hihghlight. And highlight is over the text.
About 5-th bug: what programming language you use for the editor? C#?
LikeLike
2nd Bug: That error happened when you closed the TAB right?
3rd Bug: Did you tried setting the intensity low?
5th: I used VB.NET language. 🙂

2nd bug: yes, I try close tab:
Bug reproduce path:
1)Open editor window(we see tamplate window and start page)
2)click some button to create tamplate class (e. g. weapon class)
3) close tamplete window.
4)try to close tab with template class and see error in the log window.
P.S. I found another bug with tamplate window: The window is displayed on top.
If I open templete window and then change active window(e. g. browser) and I see tamplete window over browser window. See screen
LikeLike
I will definitely look into that Tab close bug. Thanks for reporting and for the reproduce path. 🙂
For the template window, it will always stay on top of other windows. Thats how it is designed.

About tamplate window, I think it would be greate if that window was dialog window. Or user can change type of window : dialog or top.
About clossing bug: if you like you can share source code for me and I try investigate the issue.

The 64-Bit Compiler is disabled. How do I enable it? Did I download the wrong version?
LikeLike
Hi Josh,
X-Editor Log should show why 64-bit is disabled. Can you please check it and let me know whats the issue?
LikeLike
I already checked the log and changed the Compiler Config file from Is64 = False to Is64 = True. I can load the Compile options in the Editor and it sets the Use 64-Bit Compiler option to true, but it will not stay that way, even if I Save the Compiler Options.
LikeLike
Nevermind. I figured it out. I had the 32-Bit Compiler set in the UDK Installation Dirrectory of the Unreal X-Editor Settings. Where it says, Select Compiler (Optional), you should leave that blank and then set up your Compiler Options.

Glad you figured that out. When you said 64-bit was disabled i thought the setting was greyed out. 🙂

There can be two issues for this. Either the format is not correct or you havent specified a valid name. Make sure your Begin Object is formatted like below.
Begin Object Class=YourComponentClass Name=YourObjectName //Make sure there is no spaces between operators. eg: Class = YourComponentClass or Name = YourObjectName

Hi,
Thanks for this awesome tool, makes unreal script editing a breeze. But I’m having a rather annoying problem with the version 3.1.4 : after compiling several times, X-Editor gets slower and slower, to the point it’s barely usable and I have to restart the software. Any way around this ?
When I’m correcting errors, I have to restart X-Editor every ten minutes…
Thanks
